I’m not even sure where to start with this wedding, so I will start from the beginning. So early this year, many of us in the wedding industry heard about the unfortunate story of Anthony Carbajal. A wedding photographer out of Temecula that was just recently diagnosed with ALS. Yes, THAT Anthony that has been featured on Ellen and #ALSIceBucketChallenge #KISSmyALS guy. Shortly after, One For Anthony (#OneForAnthony) was founded. What followed, can only be described as one of the most amazing show of support I’ve ever been personally involved with. Literally, within hours, hundreds and hundreds of photographers from all over the country started signing up to take on one of Anthony’s weddings. The reason was so that Anthony can keep the money and help him with his continued fight against ALS.  I eventually had the pleasure of meeting Anthony and became good friends. What an amazing guy. And when he hired me as his own sister’s wedding photographer, I was more than honored with such an important wedding. I’ve never met Vanessa and Bronson until the day of the wedding. However,  I felt like we’ve known each other for years the moment I met this lovely couple. The entire family was so loving and truly appreciative of everything all the photographers have done for them. I will never forget Anthony’s mom whispered to me that she just loved me to pieces, and appreciated everything I’ve done for Anthony and his family. That, is truly what this is all about. As wedding photographers, sometimes we are so focused on booking that next client, we lose sight on what got us into this business in the first place. And it is to document one of the most important passages of a person’s life. Where in one day, all family & friends come together to celebrate love. And what a great reminder it was!
