One of my business goals this year is to attend as many workshops as possible. There is ALWAYS something new to be learned in any profession, especially in photography. Canon, Nikon and any other big name camera companies continue to advance the technologies for cameras, and I’d be doing myself and my clients a disservice if I don’t keep up! Workshops are also a great way to meet new friends in the photography business, since networking is such a huge key for continued success in this business. So with that in mind, I attended a workshop by Henry Chen Photography a couple of months ago. You can click here for my post on my old blog. . And last weekend I attended a wedding workshop by Gavin & Erin Wade of Gavin Wade Photography in Irvine, California. I had been a fan of their work for a while since our photography has similar style; photojournalistic, clean, modern, and timeless. So when I heard about the workshop, I jumped at the chance! Within 20 minutes of meeting Gavin & Erin, I knew I was in for a treat! Gavin & Erin are a married photog duo; together they crank out AMAZING work. And honestly, these two are probably some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life!

The workshop was very technical in the beginning. We went into deep discussions about custom WB, lighting, focusing, marketing, blogging, SEO, social media, even a wedding planner joined us! The workshop was extremely well coordinated and all of our questions were answered. If you are ever lucky enough to get in on one of these workshops, I suggest you hold the spot right away! We also did a mock wedding shoot at an absolutely beautiful mansion in San Juan Capistrano.
